LSPA Summer Institute Camper Tells All

On June 6 th , 2016, 15 year old Perri Jenkins was interviewed a day after arriving to Louisiana’s Scholastic

Press Association from Houton, Texas. Her passion for broadcast journalism shows when beginning to

talk about it.

Most kids do not know about MassCommunication till later in life but Jenkins has had her mind set on

the study of journalism her whole life. “I would always play an announcer when I was little and have

been interested in interviewing drama club actors and that’s how I knew this is what I want to do with

my life.”

“I want to solidify what I want to do,” says Jenkins when explaining her reason for being here. She has

done writing and production, but wanted to broaden her options in the big field. She has three major

colleges in mind that can help her significantly in pursing her dreams. After all that she has done in

learning and practicing in all areas of journalism, Jenkins should go far.
